PROVO, UTAH — (Marketwire) — 07/25/11 — All offices of MultiLing Corp., a global translation service provider, have successfully completed an audit performed by the Austrian Standards Institute and LICS (Language Industry Certification System). The successful completion of the audit means that MultiLing USA, headquartered in Provo, Utah, as well as its branches in Germany, Italy, Peru, Korea, and Japan, are certified according to the European and German standard (DIN) EN-15038:2006 as of July 15, 2011.
This quality standard encompasses the “core translation process and all other related aspects involved in providing the service, including quality assurance and traceability.” In addition, it also dictates and defines the requirements of the translation service provider regarding personnel and technical resources, quality control, project management, basic contractual parameters with clients, and the method for providing the service.
The standard stipulates, among other things, that a translation must always be proofread by a qualified individual who is not the original translator. It also specifies the professional skills needed by those involved in the translation process.
