CERRITOS, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/23/15 — . (MDT) will launch the first-ever tablet technology to control any medical device and specifically the PerioLase® MVP-7 dental laser device. The Samsung tablet with the enhanced graphical user interface (eGUI) was engineered by MDT–s “brain trust,” for the PerioLase MVP-7. A wide spectrum of news media will be on hand to report on this long-anticipated launch.
The eGUI system has convenient touch screen capabilities that allow clinicians to pull patient treatment information right onto their Samsung Galaxy tablet and communicate directly with the PerioLase MVP-7. The PerioLase MVP-7 was developed exclusively for the patented LANAP® and LAPIP protocols.
“I–ve been working with this interface in my patient care clinic for over a year and it–s provided me with all the key operating parameters I would ever need or want,” says Robert H. Gregg, II, DDS, co-founder and president, Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc. “In addition to the standard operating functions such as average power, this device also displays energy density, power density, peak power and shot count. In addition, a timer and a dosimetry display graph provide control over unique energy exposure in specific clinical situations.”
More than 100 hours of focus groups comprised of highly-regarded dental professionals, as well as two years of engineering, has gone into the development and design of the eGUI system. The eGUI features a display of more than one million pixels, presenting 16.7 million colors on a 10.1 inch, WXGA TFT touch screen display. Patient information captured on the eGUI will have print capabilities that allow for Bluetooth, high-resolution printing. Now, data can be stored onto a database indefinitely — so users can download and store patient information and print reports. Data that comes from the PerioLase is locked into the system, and only authorized persons will be allowed to offload the information gathered. In addition, the enhanced graphical user interface is HIPPA compliant.
Clinician interest in the convenience and sophistication of this sought-after technology is evident in the hundreds of preorders to date.
Headquartered in Cerritos, Calif., ., is the developer of the LANAP® protocol for the treatment of gum disease and the manufacturer of the . By providing a simple and comfortable experience with unique bone-building clinical results, MDT–s FDA-cleared and patented LANAP protocol removes the fear from gum disease treatment, offering a vastly less painful and less invasive regenerative treatment alternative to conventional scalpel/suture flap surgery; its PerioLase® MVP-7 is a 6-watt free-running variable pulsed Nd:YAG dental laser featuring digital technology and 7 pulse durations — the most available on the market — giving it the power and versatility to perform a wide range of soft- and hard-tissue laser procedures. Established in 1994, the company–s founding clinician, Robert H.
