CORONA, CA — (Marketwired) — 12/16/14 — . announced today that Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) has chosen to deploy TrendPoint–s power quality meter (PQM) across multiple data center facilities.
This marks an expansion of business between the two companies which began working together two years ago to deploy Branch Circuit Monitoring across busway and panelboard power distribution infrastructure manufactured by multiple vendors. EnerSure Enkapsis works seamlessly with legacy TrendPoint devices in Facebook–s data centers to enhance the DCIM initiative by adding Total Harmonic Distortion and Waveform Capture analysis capabilities.
“Power efficiency is a key priority as we continue to scale, and with four data centers in the U.S. and Europe, we are always looking for ways to optimize our data center operations,” said Tom Furlong, Vice President of Infrastructure, Facebook. “TrendPoint Systems will provide us with a granular understanding of power consumption across our distribution equipment — information that will help us improve our IT infrastructure.”
“When we developed EnerSure Enkapsis, we weren–t just looking to augment our product set with a conventional 3-phase offering”, said Jon Trout, CTO, TrendPoint Systems. “Enkapis provides both THD and waveform capture metrics, plus all your downstream power and environmental monitoring. It really captures the concept of Platform Metering. Facebook–s critical facilities team does an excellent job leveraging the EnerSure platform as well as best in class software applications to drive energy efficiency and reduce operating costs across their global data center footprint.”
TrendPoint Systems designs and manufacturers flexible, scalable and cost-effective sub-metering devices for the critical facility. Built on the EnerSure platform, every TrendPoint power meter utilizes a common chipset and protocol map/mib, allowing end users to integrate power metrics from high amperage main switchgear down to sub-panel branch circuits with a single software driver from the DCIM or BMS application.
