Invincea Posts Record Performance in Third Fiscal Quarter

FAIRFAX, VA — (Marketwired) — 11/04/14 — the market leader in advanced endpoint threat protection, today announced record performance and accelerated momentum in its third quarter and milestones, including:

Invincea added over 200 new commercial customers in Q3, resulting in record sales since inception. The company experienced exceptionally strong growth in Q3 from the financial, insurance, Federal and aerospace sectors, including several major U.S. banks, GE Capital Retail Finance, the U.S. Army, Navy and Department of Energy.

The company continues to rapidly grow its global business footprint through its . Today, over 20,000 businesses and more than 1.2 million users run Invincea software.

The company–s advanced research division — Invincea Labs — took in orders of $5.7M in Federal business in Q3 with bookings year-to-date totaling more than $18M. As part of the company–s ongoing contribution to the security community, , a free malware discovery and analysis solution for data forensics and incident response (DF/IR) teams that includes Cynomix malware analysis tools. Invincea Labs presented Cynomix, a big data analysis engine for malware based on 4-years of funded DARPA research, at BlackHat USA in August, and launched the Cynomix.org website for malware researchers.

Was awarded core patents by the USPTO for its isolation, containerization, and detection techniques for protecting operating systems from compromised applications.

Invincea also continued to enhance its leadership team and strategic vision with the addition of highly respected industry pioneers. NetWitness co-founders Amit Yoran and Tim Belcher joined in September 2014. RSA Security President Amit Yoran took an independent seat on the Invincea Board of Directors and Tim Belcher now serves as a strategic technical advisor. Invincea also , former chief operating officer (COO) and CISO for the Terremark Federal Group (part of Verizon), as the company–s first COO.

“We are clearly excited about the market signaling on the back of a record quarter since our company–s inception,” said Invincea Founder and CEO Anup Ghosh. “We continue our strong performance in the Federal market, but the significant growth in commercial customer acquisition is signaling that the market is acquiring Invincea to address advanced threats targeting users. We are excited to welcome great new brands in the financial services segment to the Invincea family that now includes over 20,000 businesses and over 1.2 million users. With the recent additions of Amit Yoran and Tim Belcher to the team, we have the right talent in place to capture this enormous market opportunity in advanced threat protection for endpoints in the enterprise space.”

“Users often lack sufficient cyber threat knowledge and are considered the weakest link in enterprise security. Traditional endpoint technologies do not adequately address this risk because they are focused on the client, server, or network layer and not on the data itself,” said Chief Security Officer Shawn Anderson at Babcock and Wilcox, a premier advanced technology and mission-critical defense contractor. “While post-breach forensics has a place in enterprise security, stopping the breach in the first place is far more cost effective and brand preserving. That is why we took an aggressive measure to protect the largest attack surface — the user. By addressing the threat of spear-phishing, targeted attacks, zero-day exploits and user-initiated infections, we expect to reduce the cost of help desk calls, incident response, employee downtime and potential brand damage from incidents. We evaluated leading solutions in the advanced threat protection space and concluded that Invincea was the best solution for us across the dimensions of security, performance, scalability, and usability. We have successfully deployed Invincea in our enterprise to both stop these threats as well as give us additional latitude for our online needs.”

“Every day brings another breach report in which Invincea could have prevented the initial point of compromise,” said Global VP of Sales Christopher M. Smith at Invincea. “While we would never claim to be a silver bullet, what we can do is take away the end user as an easy target for attackers. By doing so we also offer a remarkable return on value for existing clients by eliminating the need to re-image compromised machines and the expensive investigation, remediation, and fines associated with data breach. Across our global customer base, Invincea is responsible for foiling dozens of spear-phishing and drive-by download attacks. While many vendors claim prevention is a failed strategy, the fast growing demand for Invincea–s products show that customers still have some fight in them, and will not admit defeat.”

Invincea is recognized as providing one of most advanced malware prevention solutions in the market.

In October 2014, Invincea was named a Finalist in the technology category for D.C.–s that recognizes innovators, disruptors and trailblazers that are shaking up the way business is done in the District. In 2013, Invincea won the Northern Virginia Technology Council Innovators Award as well as “Best Anti-Malware Solution” in 2012 and 2013 by Government Security News. At the RSA Conference 2011, Invincea was named the “Most Innovative Company of the Year.” Invincea–s solutions include an endpoint security software suite and threat intelligence service. Together, these solutions offer a unique ability to protect enterprise networks without requiring prior knowledge of attacks, commonly called attack signatures, against all types of threats directed at end-users, including zero-days, by seamlessly moving applications that run untrusted content into controlled, secure virtual containers that automatically detect and terminate threats in real time.
