MANCHESTER, NH — (Marketwired) — 10/27/14 — Data integration company today announced the appointment of 20-year software-industry veteran as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company–s growth and expansion. McGowan will also oversee Scribe–s continued creation of the most advanced and widely adopted integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to make enterprise-class data integration easier to create, deploy, manage and monetize for independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators (SIs) and customers.
“The integration industry is at an inflection point, and Scribe is poised for continued market leadership thanks to the strategic stewardship of former CEO Lou Guercia and the hard work and thoughtful innovation of the entire Scribe team,” said Bob Crowley, managing partner, The Mustang Group. “Shawn steps in with deep understanding and appreciation for cloud and on-premise integration challenges, as well as a passion for working with customers, partners and product teams to build technology solutions that solve urgent business needs. His experience will help us position the company for continued success as the market evolves.”
Bringing a powerful combination of technology and leadership experience to Scribe, McGowan previously managed the development and delivery of both traditional and on-demand software products for numerous market leaders. Most recently, McGowan served as the chief operating officer of Newmarket International, Inc., the market leader in hospitality sales and service software that was recently acquired by Amadeus for $500M. In his long tenure leading product strategy and delivery as chief technology officer, senior vice president of product development and support, and vice president of product development, he transformed Newmarket International–s technology development platform, built a public cloud solution on Force.com, initiated a new product strategy and expanded its portfolio of hosted applications. Prior to joining Newmarket, McGowan served as an internet architect for ManagedOps.com, where he built the infrastructure for all Internet-facing products and managed a variety of e-business, portal and CRM applications. Earlier in his career, McGowan held senior technology positions at Elderhostel, Inc. and The Taylor Group.
“Scribe is at the forefront of a tremendous market opportunity, and I plan to rapidly scale the company to meet increasing demand for a complete, modern integration platform,” noted McGowan. “Joining at a critical juncture, I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my integration knowledge to further drive the evolution of the award-winning Scribe Online platform in the emerging iPaaS space and build on our deep roots in enterprise, on-premise integration.”
Scribe continues to disrupt the data integration market by giving partners and customers a way to easily connect critical business applications — on premise, in the cloud and in hybrid environments. Recognized as a leading integration innovator, Scribe recently closed its 20th consecutive quarter of year-over-year (YOY) revenue growth based on substantial ISV and SI adoption of and its highest bookings quarter in company history for its cloud platform — driving more than 200 percent SaaS revenue growth. Designed to empower partners and IT developers to quickly embed and distribute integration services to deliver immediate business value regardless of time, resource or budget constraints, the Scribe Platform mitigates SaaS integration risk.
McGowan joins the Board of Directors, comprised of representatives from The Mustang Group and Peter Chase, Scribe–s founder and executive vice president of business development. Former CEO Lou Guercia supports McGowan–s vision and will remain on the Board to provide his industry perspective and help fuel Scribe–s continued growth.
McGowan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Plymouth State College with postgraduate studies in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
