The consumer web and mobile applications experience is setting significantly higher standards for enterprise application user interfaces (UIs). To address customers– increased UI expectations, Oracle has developed the Oracle Alta User Interface, a design system and set of guidelines that enables developers to deliver strikingly modern, simpler, and more engaging UIs across web-based and on-device mobile applications. The Oracle Alta UI is the new standard for Oracle Applications and Oracle Cloud-based services and is supported by Oracle–s development tools and frameworks for mobile, cloud, and web-based applications.

The Oracle Alta UI design system provides a set of guidelines and best practices. The system is based on years of user experience and usability implementations and analysis by leading UI and design specialists.

Oracle Alta UI-based applications feature a simplified component structure and more open space to keep the focus on data.

The Oracle Alta UI system is based on four design principles:

Design for mobile first

Keep layouts simple and uncluttered

Provide a clear information hierarchy

Engage users with more visual content

The system is used to develop services, including Oracle Cloud Portal, Developer Cloud, Documents Cloud, and Mobile Cloud, the latest versions of , and mobile applications including Oracle Mobile Timecards for Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Mobile and Oracle–s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Mobile, with many more to come.

With the Oracle Alta UI, developers and interface designers can create better user experiences across their web and mobile applications by focusing on fewer elements and cleaner designs aimed at accelerating performance and information delivery.

Oracle Alta UI principles are conducive to responsive UI design that can adjust to different devices and display resolutions, delivering a nearly seamless experience regardless of the platform being used.

Oracle has published a best-practice roadmap for developers looking to employ the Oracle Alta UI, including how to:

providing details on common UI patterns with new best practices

allowing for the creation of UIs that adjust to different devices and display sizes

offering detailed guidelines for both web and mobile application UI design

Oracle Mobile Application Framework and Oracle ADF Faces support the guidelines through their UI components.
