DecaWave (), the pioneering fabless semiconductor company specializing in ultra wideband technology for precise location and connectivity applications, has appointed Gilles Delfassy as non-executive director of the company.
Gilles Delfassy is a leading figure in the global semiconductor industry, with a career that spans both the US and Europe. Mr. Delfassy is currently the President of the Supervisory Board of Kalray, SA, (France), and Director at Imagination Technologies Ltd (IMG) (U.K.), and Sequans Communications Inc. (SQNS) (France). Until recently, Mr. Delfassy was also Chairman of the Board of Movea, S.A. (France) until the data fusion company completed a successful exit as it was acquired by InvenSense (INVN), Inc.
Gilles Delfassy began his career at Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated, where he created and led the company–s wireless terminals business unit as a TI Senior Vice-President and Executive Officer, eventually growing it into a five-billion dollar operation. Under Mr. Delfassy–s leadership, TI became the world–s number-one supplier of semiconductors to the wireless industry, with more than half the cellular phones in the world built with TI–s chipsets.
