SAN MATEO, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/05/13 — C9, the Revenue Performance Company, today announced the appointment of Andy Twigg as CTO and David Thompson as VP of Engineering to bolster its Big Data and Cloud expertise, and to accelerate growth.

Andy is an expert in Big Data algorithmics. Until recently, he was a computer science research fellow at Oxford University in Big Data, with particular interest in distributed, streaming, approximate and large-scale machine learning algorithms. He was co-founder and CTO of Acunu, a startup doing real-time Big Data analytics with Cassandra. He has a PhD from Cambridge, and has worked at industrial research labs including Microsoft Research and Thomson (now Technicolor) Research. He is also a founder of , a service for streaming predictive analytics.
David comes to C9 from Deem (formerly known as Rearden Commerce) where, as VP of Engineering, he led the team that developed a high-scale transactional SaaS platform that provides relevant travel, offers and procurement content to business customers directly and through syndication. Prior to Deem, David developed his technical and leadership skills at OuterBay (acquired by HP) and Oracle. David-s foundational work at Oracle-s Data Warehousing Division and Deem provide a unique confluence of SaaS and critical database experience for C9.
In addition, Serge Massicotte, who until recently was VP of Engineering at C9, is now VP and General Manager of Predictive Analytics. Serge will manage C9-s focused team of data scientists who are at the forefront of helping companies translate Big Data into revenue growth.
All three executives will report to Michael Howard, CEO of C9. With this strong technical leadership, C9 is strongly poised to scale out its platform to capture and analyze petabytes of data, as well as integrate a wide variety of data sources to optimize revenue across all front office applications. In addition, C9 will provide mash up capabilities of Big Data and Fast Data to get actionable results into the hands of its customers.
