(arvato Systems) Gütersloh, Germany – Systems integrator and media expert arvato Systems, together with new partner Mediaspectrum, will pursue the development and implementation of long-term strategies for publishing. Within this context, a web-based solution provides an important building block for convergence.
The oft-cited upheaval in the media industry due to ever-increasing digitalization requires new answers and solutions. For newspaper and magazine publishing, this often implies changes in processes and cost structures. Revenues become a function not only of print markets but also of the cross-media segment. In this period of change, publishers are turning to the development of new strategies and marketing models in order to successfully position themselves in the market and expand their product palette. The original publisher business model – using edited content to achieve sales and advertising revenues – is being continuously complemented by new cross-media services. As an industry expert, arvato Systems is able to provide answers about media convergence and the resulting expansion of the existing architecture of publishing systems: “Together with our partner Mediaspectrum, we help newspaper and magazine publishers implement digital strategies and cross-media offerings,” explains Frank Stapelfeldt, (Industry Manager for ‘Newspapers and Magazines’ Media at arvato Systems).
Tailored concept for the market and industry-specific solution
arvato Systems offers newspaper and magazine publishers a unique combination of industry expertise and service portfolio: In the area of digital advertising processes and content publishing, the SAP industry solution is expanded by the Mediaspectrum product, which bears the same name as the company. Mediaspectrum offers a web-based solution that addresses all the aspects of ad management, content, social networks, and eCommerce. Based in Boston, the company supports media enterprises such as The Washington Post, Gannet, and Trinity Mirror in their efforts to increase earnings, manage print and digital ads and editorial content, and optimize workflows and processes. The core of the cloud application consists of standard components in conjunction with a flexible workflow framework.
arvato Systems is now testing the service-oriented platform for the German market with the support of Mediaspectrum. It has already become clear during initial projects that the solution adds an important building block to the process of media convergence for newspapers and magazines, as well as for yellow pages, portal operators, and in the field of moving images.
