BEAVERTON, OR — (Marketwired) — 09/26/13 — Open Scalable File Systems (OpenSFS), the premier non-profit organization advancing and coordinating the Lustre® file system community, is proud to announce the expansion of the Lustre User Group (LUG) conferences to the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC). The first Asian LUGs will take place in Beijing, China, on October 15, 2013, followed by Tokyo, Japan, on October 17, 2013.
“There-s really no substitute for face-to-face technical discussions with plenty of chance for in depth back-and-forth interactions. Lustre User Group meetings provide exactly that advantage. Supporting new LUGs in Asia is a major priority,” said Galen Shipman, OpenSFS Chairman. “To fully support and promote a global community for the Lustre file system, more LUGs in Asia are key.”
OpenSFS is working on behalf of the global Lustre community to provide an ideal opportunity for collaboration and discussion of expertise and experience that is accessible to everyone. To help share information and encourage questions, nearly all of the technical sessions will be presented in Mandarin or Japanese.
Intel is a Gold Sponsor for both China and Japan LUGs, and Cray is a Gold Sponsor for the Japan LUG. For more APAC LUG information:
