NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 09/23/13 — , a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced Marc Scibelli has been promoted into the newly created position of Chief Creative Officer. In this role, Scibelli will continue oversight of , Infor-s creative design agency, while franchising its approach into the way Infor builds, markets and sells software.
Scibelli has helped pioneer the consumerization of business software through a unique strategy centered around partnering a creative agency with business software experts. Based in Manhattan, Hook & Loop has creative staff members from all walks of the design spectrum, but all with a pedigree outside of enterprise software. Under his leadership, the Hook & Loop team has grown from 15 members in the beginning of 2013 to approximately 80 today, and Infor recently leased more space at its headquarters to accommodate this growth.
Hook & Loop team members include a digital effects artists for the Avengers, the first Apple iAd creator, an official Google storyteller, a Pulitzer Prize winner for Information Graphics, a Kenneth Cole designer, a creator of innovative story books, a documentary film maker, an on-air reporter, and many alumni from start-ups in Silicon Alley and graduates of New York design and fashion schools.
“Creativity and beautiful design is part of Infor-s DNA, and Marc has built a unique company within a company completely focused on making business software meaningful to use,” said Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor. “This is a transformation our industry needed. Design agencies are trying to build software companies to solve this problem, but Infor is a software company that built a design agency. Marc-s leadership, energy, eye for beauty, curiosity about emerging technologies, and network of other Creatives in New York will pull the entire industry in this direction. The next generation of users of business software will not use products as they look today with good reason, and Infor is leading that change.”
Hook & Loop works closely with Infor developers and product managers to drive user experience past the foundational needs of technology to focus on creating pleasurable and meaningful experiences for Infor customers. Hook & Loop has had an immediate impact on Infor products and plays an instrumental role in the development of Infor-s SoHo User Experience and collaboration platform.
A 17-year veteran of creative agencies, Scibelli shares a Pulitzer Prize for information graphics. He has degrees in Visual Communications and Advertising Art & Design from SUNY Farmingdale School of Art & Design.
