SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 08/27/13 — , the leader in Cloud BI, today announced that , the leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), is embedding Birst-s business intelligence (BI) platform within its business process applications to help customers gain the information and analysis they need to optimize their business processes. Birst-s enterprise-caliber capabilities, including multidimensional analysis, will help enable business process solution designers and participants to quickly identify opportunities for business process improvement and uncover root causes of business process setbacks.
OpenText-s business process applications help empower employees, customers, and partners with solutions they need to produce significant business results. OpenText managerView integrates with and collects business process-related data generated by its BPM offerings. To provide its customers with easy access to meaningful analytical insight that goes far beyond basic reporting and process modeling, OpenText is now embedding Birst-s BI platform within its managerView and ProVision solutions, which will help customers to quickly and easily slice-and-dice information and break down complex data relationships and business process architectures with the help of cross-dimensional calculations.
Leveraging Birst Mobile, OpenText will make Birst-s reporting and analysis available via mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets. As a result, users on the go can receive notification of any business process performance issues, allowing them to quickly act to get business processes back on track.
“Compared to other BI solutions, the capabilities of Birst were the best fit for Open Text-s business process intelligence offerings,” said Isam Alyousfi, vice president of engineering, OpenText Business Process Applications. “The data visualization capabilities of Birst complement Open Text managerView business process intelligence solutions and can provide managerView customers with the ability to optimize their business processes and increase their results.”
Faced with the challenge of finding a BI solution suitable for embedding within managerView and ProVision, OpenText evaluated a broad range of options. Only Birst met the organization-s needs, with its flexible, agile, end-to-end BI platform deployable in a myriad of ways. Embedded within the managerView and ProVision solutions, Birst will be implemented as an on-premise, virtual appliance. In a future release of these solutions, Birst will be deployable either on-premise or in the Cloud, depending on the customer-s preference. While other BI solutions require that they perform ETL processing, Birst makes ETL optional, giving OpenText the flexibility to utilize either its own ETL capabilities, or Birst-s when additional data sources are needed. And, unlike other solutions, Birst is able to leverage OpenText-s existing technological investments by sitting on top of ProVision and managerView-s established technologies. Birst combines its innovative back-end technology with self-service capabilities that will help OpenText customers to easily create new reports and dashboards that reflect their unique business processes.
“Birst-s enterprise-caliber BI platform quickly addresses complex analytical challenges in order to accelerate access to meaningful business insight,” said Brad Peters, CEO of Birst. “That means we solve real problems, real fast, leading to better decisions that produce immediate results.”
