SDC will feature leading-edge keynote presentations including one by GoDaddy.com titled “Storage Infrastructure Performance Validation at Go Daddy – Best Practices from the World-s #1 Web Hosting Provider” – presented by Julia Palmer, storage protection and data manager, and Justin Richardson, senior storage engineer, Go Daddy
The event will also include sessions led by industry experts like Andy Rudoff, senior software engineer, Intel and Jason Brown, senior software engineer, Netflix.
Highlights of the many breakout sessions at SDC 2013 include:
The five-day SNIA SMB2/3 Plugfest, which will be co-located with SDC 2013 has been underwritten by Microsoft with NetApp acting as a contributing sponsor. This year-s conference will feature an iSCSI Plugfest that will start on Sunday, September 15th. The SMB2/3 Plugfest will allow vendors and open-source project managers developing interoperable products to bring their implementations of SMB2/3 to test, identify, and fix bugs in a collaborative setting with the goal of providing a forum in which companies can develop interoperable products. Last year-s Plugfest featured over 100 engineers and developers from 20 companies testing over 50 products and platforms. Participants in recent years have included engineers from Apple, Citrix, Codenomicon, EMC, HP, IBM, IT Access, IXIA, Mathworks, Microsoft, NetApp, Netgear, Oracle, Quantel, Quantum, Red Hat, Samba, Suse, SwiftTest, and Visuality Systems.
The 2013 Cloud Interoperability Week will also be held at the same SDC venue and will feature a Cloud Interoperability Plugfest promoting the interchange of methods, tools and techniques that are essential to testing cloud computing interoperability such as data management, virtual machine portability, resource provisioning, cloud brokering, and security. Industry organizations sponsoring the Plugfest include SNIA, DMTF, ETSI, OASIS, OCEAN Project, OGF, and OW2. This eventsis open to participation by other industry standards organizations, individual developers, vendors and software framework projects which are addressing cloud interoperability issues.
