Participating in this year”s Texprocess 2013 (June 10-14, Frankfurt) sure enough paid off for GUNOLD GmbH, a leading global provider for everything related to embroidery. “We were extremely busy on all four days and were pleasantly surprised by the expert knowledge of the trade show visitors as well as the international turn-out”, sums up Stephan Gunold, Head of Marketing. The demonstration of embroidery solutions, especially the presentation of different applications was notably well received among trade show visitors.
Texprocess, the leading international trade fair for the processing of textile and other flexible material, by far lived up to all expectations. “We hoped for a great international turn-out and therefore we are very happy with the attendance on all four days”. Gunold observed an amazing 40% increase in visitors compared to the last show including a high share of 65% international visitors. The predominant share of visitors came from Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, among them numerous new business contacts.
The inviting open design of the booth certainly played a major role in attracting newcomers. Due to the four island demo-stations on software for punching, on embroidery applications, on embroidery threads and on embroidery backings, foils and fabrics the visitors received comprehensive and relevant information of GUNOLD”s range of products. “Action” was the name of the game at the ironing demo-stations. Gunold “turned up the heat” and demonstrated how to easily work with the following ironing-on products using an ironing press or household iron: THERMOSEAL – the heat-activated foil for sealing, THERMOGAZE – the heat-sensitive gauze for free standing embroidery lace, THERMOFILM – the stabilizer that vanishes after embroidery, THERMOFIX – the adhesive fibers for permanent bonding of patches and emblems or STICK PROTECT – the fusible protective gauze to be ironed on the back of skin-irritating embroideries. Visitors also followed with great interest the demonstrations on the one-head embroidery machine by Fortron (Stickmaschinen.de)
Just to mention a few popular product highlights: additional new colours of FILAINE 12, the embroidery thread for rustic embroideries with that typical needlework look; Stickprotect, the fusible protective gauze even for thin, soft to the touch fabrics to prevent irritations of the skin, is now available in black and every embroidery backing from GUNOLD is now also available on smaller rolls. And The Tool Kit -containing four tools and the Oil Pen-for lubricating those hard to reach parts of your embroidery machine. The little helpers around the embroidery machine were all very well received. Last but not least, the new seminar schedule for the 2nd half of 2013 was introduced. The only downside – only a few synergies with the trade show Techtextil were noted. Nevertheless a few prospective automotive suppliers found their way to the booth. “Of course, if embroidery prevails in the high-tech segment of technical textiles as well, this will be another step in the right direction”, Stephan Gunold concludes. And it has already been agreed upon that this will definitely be one of the major efforts for the 3rd Tecprocess in 2015.
