SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN — (Marketwired) — 06/28/13 — International Road Dynamics Inc. (TSX: IRD) (IRD) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) for its Continuous Traffic Monitoring (CTM) Data Collection Goods and Services statewide project. CTM systems collect traffic volume, speed, vehicle classification, and weight data to support HDOT-s continuous traffic monitoring program on the state-s highways. The contract covers the supply, operation and maintenance of the CTM systems, as well as data services that include the provision for real-time display via web access. The total five year contract value is CAD $5.7M.
There are currently seventy-two permanent traffic monitoring sites that will be incorporated into this project located on six of the eight major islands (Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, Lanai, Molokai, & Kauai). More sites will be added during the term of the project. The sites and the data collected will be consistent with guidelines published in the current Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Traffic Monitoring Guide (TMG).
