Fortinet FortiMail(TM) Earns Coveted Virus Bulletin VBSpam+ Certification Based on High Spam Catch Rate and Zero False Positives

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/12/13 — ® (NASDAQ: FTNT) — — today announced the company-s email security solution has earned the VBSpam+ certification from Virus Bulletin, a leading security magazine, based on the software-s high spam catch rate and zero false positives. This is FortiMail-s 24th consecutive Virus Bulletin Antispam award.

Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiMail along with 19 other antispam products from multiple countries for spam catch rates and false positive rates. Virus Bulletin started in 1989 as a magazine dedicated to providing PC users with a regular source of intelligence about computer malware, its prevention, detection and removal, and how to recover programs and data following an attack. Virus Bulletin quickly became the leading specialist publication in the field of malware and spam and is today produced in an online format. For many years, Virus Bulletin has carried out independent comparative testing of anti-malware products. The unique VB100 certification scheme is widely recognized within the industry. Virus Bulletin tests anti-malware products free of charge and, unlike other certification schemes, does not allow re-testing — performances are reported exactly as they are found. 2009 saw the introduction of Virus Bulletin-s anti-spam comparative testing and the VBSpam certification scheme which has also become widely recognized and respected within the industry.
