CAMPBELL, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/11/13 — Exalt Communications, Inc., the leading innovator of next-generation packet microwave backhaul systems, today announced that Stimulus Technologies, a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) providing Internet connectivity to some 250 commercial customers in the Greater Las Vegas area, has deployed Exalt ExtremeAir microwave backhaul systems in its core network.
Stimulus Technologies has been an Internet Service Provider since 1999, serving the cities of Henderson, Summerlin, and Las Vegas. In 2011, the company began researching an upgrade for its core network, which consisted of leased fiber lines in the core. The company used Exalt to replace this network with an all-wireless 1-Gigabit per second (Gbps) infrastructure consisting of 11 GHz and 18 GHz ExtremeAir microwave backhaul systems.
“We wanted an all-Ethernet, 1-Gigabit per second wireless infrastructure in an all-outdoor configuration based on 11 GHz and 18 GHz systems, and Exalt was the only provider that could meet our needs,” said Nathan Whittacre, president of Stimulus Technologies. “Exalt has provided us with the high-performance systems we can rely on, even in adverse weather conditions such as high winds and monsoon rains.”
Exalt pioneered 1 Gbps, all-outdoor microwave backhaul systems and now offers the largest selection of these products in the industry. With Exalt-s outstanding performance and reliability, Stimulus Technologies has experienced no downtime since the systems were deployed in 2012.
“When you-re a service provider focused on commercial customers, the continuing success of your business depends on providing fiber-quality Internet access with no downtime,” said Greg Gum, Exalt senior vice president of marketing and business development. “The WISP business is highly competitive, and WISPs like Stimulus Technologies strengthen their competitive edge by relying on Exalt systems to deliver outstanding performance and reliability under all conditions.”
Exalt Communications provides next-generation packet microwave backhaul systems to mobile operators, broadband service providers, government agencies, and enterprises worldwide. Exalt wireless systems are used most often as a complement or cost-effective alternative to fiber. They also have been inherently designed to support the rapid build out of the 4G/LTE mobile Internet infrastructure driven by ever growing user-generated traffic and fueled by the accelerated adoption rate of smartphones and tablets.
