This addition will enable the Company a more permanent satellite footprint into Central America. Virgin Technologies Inc. will be providing connectivity on the Ku band helping customers with solutions to fulfill their growing need for communication in the Americas.
Virgin Technologies specializes in innovative satellite telecommunications solutions-typically used in VoIP telephone services, secure VPN over satellite, remote site monitoring and data reporting, and secure mission critical communications. Satmex 8 is a high-power C-and Ku-band satellite that will be located at 116.8 degrees West longitude. It has 24 C-band and 40 Ku-band transponders to provide Fixed Satellite Services in both North America and South America.
