SCOTTSDALE, AZ — (Marketwired) — 04/19/13 — OneNeck® IT Services (OneNeck), an enterprise and company, announced today, the general availability of their (DaaS) solution. First launched in 2011 and built upon Citrix XenDesktop, OneNeck-s allows customers to enjoy the benefit of having secure access to company data and resources on virtually any device, from anywhere at any time.
OneNeck-s DaaS solution increases worker mobility by turning the traditional desktop into a virtual tool that can be accessed from a tablet, laptop, notebook, thin client, smartphone or other device. Once users log in to their virtual desktop, they can access the same applications, files and settings as a traditional desktop computer.
According to OneNeck Vice President Hunter Bennett, “Conceptually, the desktop workload is moved from the local computing device, such as the desktop PC, and placed in OneNeck-s cloud infrastructure, thus keeping the user data and profiles, as well as computing load, secure in OneNeck-s environment.”
Because each desktop is centrally provisioned and managed by OneNeck, their customer-s employees are able to work from any location outside the customer-s corporate facilities. This centralization reduces per-desktop support costs and allows organizations to quickly adjust to changing business requirements.
“OneNeck-s DaaS offering has the potential to transform how businesses operate,” said Chuck Vermillion, OneNeck-s chief executive officer. “Employees are no longer chained to their desks to perform work functions. DaaS is a perfect solution for all corporate employees, especially task workers, external contractors, temporary users, knowledge users and corporate road-warriors.”
OneNeck received the “Innovator of the Year” award for its DaaS solution at the 2011 Governor-s Celebration of Innovation event. The event, co-sponsored by the Arizona Technology Council, presents awards to outstanding companies recognized for prestigious technology achievements and innovations.
In a statement from Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council “OneNeck was recognized for their commitment to enable organizations to take advantage of the tremendous potential of cloud computing through their Desktop-as-a-Service solution. Technology leaders like OneNeck are always finding new and exciting ways to develop and deliver innovative technology solutions, making them a true leader in their field.”
OneNeck-s DaaS solution provides customers with a more robust, highly-available and flexible cloud-based desktop solution in which resources and applications can be securely delivered when and where they need them.
