CHANDLER, AZ — (Marketwire) — 02/12/13 — Semblant is conducting two first-of-its-kind demos illustrating the protective power of its conformal coat process at San Diego-s IPC APEX Expo Conference February 19-21, 2013. Semblant-s conformal coat protects a printed circuit board from liquids, salts and other corrosive elements. Semblant will be showcasing how its coating surpasses traditional coatings against water, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), and salty liquids.
This demo will showcase how Semblant-s conformal coating seals over, in and around all the elements on the board or device at a nano level when a digital picture frame is intermittently attacked with running water.
In this demo, the conformal coat will protect an active, working circuit board as it is submerged into water, IPA and mixed salts in the form of a margarita. With Semblant-s conformal coat, medical electronics, for example, are protected against common cleaning products- such as IPA-s harmful effects.
Semblant-s conformal coat process surpasses traditional coatings to provide superior protection against liquids, salts and other corrosive elements through a radically streamlined and enhanced plasma process. The coating is applied uniformly over all elements on a board or device at the nano level, which is not possible with existing spray or brush coatings. The nano-level seal also enables greater flexibility as it allows boards to be reworked and connected without masking or laser oblation.
Steven Lowder, Semblant CEO
“We are thrilled to showcase the robust protection properties of our conformal coat technology at APEX this year. In addition, Semblant-s patented plasma process simplifies the manufacturing process, eliminating the need for masking, simplifying rework and reducing exposure to hazardous materials.”
Make sure to stop by Semblant-s booth (Booth 2301) to check out how the conformal coat technology protects circuit boards and to join the San Diego fiesta.
