ALBUQUERQUE, NM and CINCINNATI, OH — (Marketwire) — 12/10/12 — Comet Solutions, Inc., the innovative provider of Comet® software for design process automation across repeatable simulation workflows starting early in the product design cycle, is excited to announce the addition of Mark Goldstein, former SIMULIA CEO and Executive Vice President of Dassault Systèmes, to its Board of Directors. Comet is also announcing that Larry Achram and Reza Sadeghi have joined its Board of Advisors, which serves to advise the company on new business development, customer success, and technology leadership. Commented Dan Meyer, President and CEO of Comet Solutions, “The addition of these highly successful individuals to our extended team strengthens our ability to attract and serve customers and thus build a great company. Our executives will look to each of them to offer their talent and experience in pursuit of continued annual company growth over 100%.”
, who recently founded a strategic management consulting practice, brings years of experience as a CEO running global technology companies to the Comet Board of Directors. Goldstein was CEO of Abaqus Inc., which was sold to Dassault Systèmes in 2005, then served three years as CEO of Dassault Systèmes- newly formed SIMULIA business before turning his focus to strategy, several global accounts, and mergers and acquisitions at the corporate level. Meyer worked with Goldstein in the 1990s at the former SDRC (now Siemens PLM), where Goldstein spent 20 years, most recently as VP, Products Group. Said Meyer, “Mark knows through experience what it takes to deliver shareholder value in the CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) industry. With his strengths in strategy, operations and product know-how, I-m confident he will be a very valuable addition to our Board of Directors.”
is a well-respected automobile product development executive who has brought many major vehicles to market, including the Chrysler 300 and the first Jeep Grand Cherokee. He recently left his role as VP and General Manager of Insider eCar U.S. at Siemens to form a business and product development consulting practice. Most important to Comet, Achram knows how modeling and simulation enables customers to meet automotive product development pressures. When asked about joining the Comet Board of Advisors, Achram said, “During my tenure running Chrysler-s CAE processes, I couldn-t find a solution like Comet because the major simulation code suppliers offered simulation automation using only their suite of products. Comet has a unique product that allows the automation of best practices and analysis work streams using a “smart template” approach that enables you to use the right product for the situation, including home-grown codes. I look forward to assisting the Comet team to drive this powerful new solution into the automotive market and beyond.”
brings to the Comet Board of Advisors more than 20 years of technical leadership roles in the CAE industry and a proven ability to apply innovative technology to meet customer needs. Sadeghi is currently the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of HD Solutions. He was on the management team at MARC Analysis Research Corporation, which was acquired by MSC Software in 1999. Sadeghi later served as CTO for MSC Software, a role in which he was responsible for the entire global product portfolio, product management, and development teams. Added Meyer, “Reza has a great knowledge of the solution landscape in our industry and how technology leads to breakthroughs in customer productivity. He will be a tremendous asset when it comes to advancing our product vision and roadmap. He also enjoys strong relationships with leading global manufacturers, particularly in the aerospace industry, on which we will draw to build our customer base.”
Achram and Sadeghi join Allen Frew, retired VP of Strategic Integration at Northrop Grumman Space Technology and a seasoned executive in the U.S. defense and civil space community, on Comet-s Board of Advisors. With these additions, the company-s advisory team now has extensive expertise in Comet-s major target markets of space, aerospace, automotive, and defense.
