New cloud-based “SAPERION ECM Together” makes it easy to create, view, share, jointly edit, and archive documents from any location. Users need only a computer or smartphone with an Internet connection for 24/7 access. Data are stored in the cloud and synchronized on the local device each time the device connects, giving the user the ability to keep working even without a continuous Internet connection.
Berlin – SAPERION ECM Together breaks down old barriers by enabling cloud-based mobile access to documents, joint project work, and an affordable digital archive. This innovative product is designed to be a convenient solution not just for large corporations, but also for freelancers, independent professionals, and smaller companies that had previously found modern digital archives to be too complicated or too expensive. According to Herbert Lörch, CEO of SAPERION: “Our objective is to provide a way to rapidly archive and retrieve documents while maintaining legal compliance. ECM Together provides these capabilities in a very straightforward way.”
SAPERION ECM Together includes all of the functions expected in a modern archive and document-management system, including customizable folder and records structures, keywords for each document, previews, and the ability to grant rights for projects and folders that contain multiple documents. The solution is also ideal for completing joint projects with multiple participants. Of course, revision-proof storage for full traceability is a standard function, helping ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Security takes on special importance when business-relevant data are stored in the cloud, so the Together archive utilizes a flexible authorization structure to control not only who may access specific content but when and how access is permitted. Data are stored either in a public or private (in the company-s own data center) cloud. Information is not assigned to individual users, but instead to the company itself, so corporate knowledge remains under the company-s control at all times. This is a major advantage over the many similar services that are not designed specifically for business use. Individual employees can be easily blocked at any time. In addition, documents are placed into the archive in encrypted format and decrypted only once retrieved. This provides an extra level of reliable protection against unauthorized access.
SAPERION ECM Together was presented for the first time at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Barcelona in November of 2012. It will be available through SAPERION and all SAPERION partners beginning in early 2013.
