SONOMA, CA — (Marketwire) — 05/15/12 — Crushpad, the world-s leading small-lot, custom crush facility, has announced the launch of its Crush25 Facebook application. With the new Crush25 app, amateur winemakers can create an online wine making community together with friends, family, associates or fellow wine enthusiasts for personal use or partner with Crushpad to incubate a wine brand with commercial ambitions.
The Facebook app () explains how the process works and directs budding winemakers to Crushpad-s catalog of more than 50 premier vineyards. From there, clients can select a single barrel (25 cases) or multiple barrels of wine, and in partnership with Crushpad choose both the variety and vineyard. Crushpad places a hold on the grapes and activates the prospective winemaker-s customizable brand page within the Crush25 Facebook app. They then have 30 days to find fellow wine enthusiasts to join their winemaking community.
Once enough enthusiasts are lined up, the community can engage in Crushpad-s winemaking process, hopefully starting with a visit to Crushpad-s Sonoma winery at harvest to help with sorting, de-stemming, crushing, and fermentation. Throughout the winemaking process, communities work with Crushpad-s expert winemakers to select barrels, decide on the aging regime and make adjustments to the wine as needed. Crushpad-s marketing and design teams help fine-tune brand details and create custom labels. After the wine is bottled, Crushpad can ship directly to each wine making community member in over 30 states.
According to Crushpad-s CEO, Peter Ekman, “We created Crush25 to make it easier for amateur winemakers to pursue their dream of making world-class wine. Our new platform not only enables them to build a brand and communicate their vision and passion, but it also gives their friends and network a chance to join in a wine making community and share the experience of making wine and working with the most celebrated vineyards in California.”
Crushpad sources fruit from some of California-s most prestigious vineyards located in Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, Mendocino, and Santa Barbara counties.
