A modular measurement system with individual equipment is versatile and flexible. The measurement specialist BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm) focused on this aspect when developing the AMS series.
5B measurement amplifiers can be chosen for galvanic isolation, sensor supply, and amplification (=signal conditioning). They are mounted on plug-in cassettes, which are installed in the 8 slot of the AMS device. The cassettes are available with different connectors. Different sensors can be connected directly.
The AMS42-LAN16f is ideal for mobile applications with high demands. A high-quality LAN data acquisition system has been integrated into the compact ½ x 19– tabletop unit.
Up to 16 analog signals can be recorded with 250kHz total sampling rate in 16 bit resolution. High-speed as well as low-speed signals are precisely sampled at the same time.
16 digital inputs and outputs each serve for the acquisition and control of digital states. The integrated 19-bit counter with quadrature decoder can be used for counting pulses or incremental encoder measurement.
The LAN network being the interface to the PC allows signal acquisition at many places and across great distances – synchronous to real-time and interference-free. The devices are cascadable and multi-point measuring systems with 1000 channels can be realized without further ado.
Even signal acquisition in harsh environment, e.g. in field use or in a machine hall, can be solved easily: The AMS42-LAN16f is installed at the measurement point. The data are transmitted via a network cable to a PC standing at a “safe” place.
Long-time measurement with the AMS42-LAN16f and analysis of measured data is possible with the software NextView4 by bmcm.
AMS systems are also available in 19– format (AMS84 series). Other versions with USB data acquisition system or as an amplifier system are provided as tabletop unit or rack system.
Last but not least: Not just the price but also the universal applicability of the AMS system pays for itself.
At this year-s Sensor + Test 2012 from May 22 to 24 in Nuremberg, BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm) will present the amplifier measurement system in hall 12, stand 501.
A free online ticket for the trade fair is available on the bmcm website at www.bmcm.de/us to interested parties as well as detailed information about the AMS42-LAN16f and other products of data acquisition, signal conditioning, and processing of measured data.
