RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwire) — 04/19/12 — DDS Wireless International Inc. (“DDS” or “the Company”) (TSX: DD) announces today that its Transit business unit, StrataGen Systems Inc., has been awarded additional contracts to upgrade existing customers to the new ADEPT 6.1 transit scheduling platform.
The largest of these contracts is for Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”), and calls for upgrading and expanding the existing ADEPT installation that supports THE RIDE, MBTA-s ADA Paratransit program which provides door-to door transportation to eligible riders. The MBTA is one of the largest transit agencies in the United States, and its Paratransit program provides over 8,000 trips daily.
Two additional customers in Southern California and Illinois have also issued upgrade orders with several other existing StrataGen customers in active project discussions.
“We are pleased to see the rapid and favorable customer reaction to our new ADEPT release in the market and we are grateful for the ongoing support from our existing clients”, states Matt Scheuing, President of StrataGen Systems Inc. “We already note that clients have seen improvement in their scheduling efficiency through such innovations as automatic GPS based travel time predictions, additional automated scheduling routines such as center-based scheduling and ability to automatically enforce agency restrictions.”
The new ADEPT platform is a powerful enterprise-wide solution for managing the complex and dynamic operating conditions of transit providers. Built on a Microsoft SQL Server platform, the new release offers a flexible and user-friendly Microsoft Reporting Services based business intelligence environment that provides out-of-the-box performance indicators for transit. It also includes a significant number of enhancements such as integration of automated GPS travel speed profiles for route planning, deeper support for non-emergency medical providers including taxi companies and a new trip brokering module.
The bulk of the revenue from these contracts will be recorded in fiscal 2012, with customary maintenance contracts commencing upon completion of the upgrades expected later in the year.
