SUPERIOR, COLORADO — (Marketwire) — 02/15/12 — SDL (LSE: SDL), the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions, today announced that Hach, a leader in water quality analytics, has doubled its throughput while reducing the time it takes to create and translate its content since partnering with SDL, enabling the company to enrich the customer experience through delivering content in the language, the media and at the moment they choose.
In order to facilitate a faster documentation development cycle while still maintaining the company-s high standards of quality and accuracy, Hach turned to SDL for an integrated Global Information Management solution that combines SDL-s language services and technologies, including component content management system and translation management system ®. Hach chose SDL to localize its global documentation, including technical end-user manuals, in 27 languages and leveraged SDL WorldServer to enable the company to reuse content and dramatically increase the rate in which content reaches consumers.
To further complement productivity gains realized in content localization, Hach-s documentation team standardized its upstream authoring processes by adopting a structured authoring methodology with DITA, the XML standard for technical writers, and SDL Trisoft component content management system. This has allowed Hach to leverage content across products and business units and achieve economies of scale not possible before in its processes for managing global content. The combined solution proved to be a key benefit for Hach using the technology to automate processes and streamline the management of different types of content across the organization and leveraging SDL-s in country service teams on a global basis to ensure high-quality output. As a result of the partnership with SDL, Hach has not only seen a faster content delivery time but also increased consistency and improved quality.
“Hach has seen a significant increase in productivity since leveraging SDL-s solution for its global content management requirements,” said Emily Mydlowski, manager, User Experience and Information Design at Hach. “The integrated solution has ultimately enabled Hach to optimize customer engagement by delivering high-quality multilingual content in the relevant format to consumers.”
“We are pleased that Hach has seen significant improvements in speed-to-market and quality since leveraging SDL-s total solution capabilities,” said Peter Smith, CEO, SDL Language Services division, North America. “As a long-term partner, SDL is committed to supporting Hach-s Global Information Management strategy by providing the right tailored solution to help the organization continue to meet its global business objectives.”
