ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS — (Marketwire) — 01/26/12 — The , launched in 2011, has gained traction as the respected international body driving standards for the growing cloud industry. With the significant increase and continued maturity of cloud technology, there has been a further need to ensure alignment and proper training for companies and professionals in the cloud computing industry.
With a goal of creating international standards, the CCC has established a board of nine tenured IT experts, added 28 partners, and welcomed nine members. Key focus areas for the council include developing recognized cloud competence certifications, acting as a cloud competence platform for vendors and assuring high quality training.
“Before the CCC-s inception, there was a clear need for an independent, vendor-neutral board to establish global regulations,” said Cameron Chehreh, Chief Enterprise Engineer, General Dynamics Information Technology. “We have gathered a diverse group of experts and we are proud to lead the alignment in this growing field.”
The CCC examines appropriate accreditation, quality learning experiences, global certificates and up-to-date course syllabi. In addition, the CCC closely monitors cloud computing growth and assists in mapping out competencies and reviewing new needs in certification.
“As a service provider of one of the largest public clouds in the U.S., we believe the CCC is an important resource for the industry as we collaborate to drive alignment and standards for cloud technology and services,” said Craig McLellan, Chief Technology Officer, Hosting.com. “The organization has made incredible strides over its first year and I believe it will continue to gain the respect of cloud computing companies and professionals in 2012.”
